When I was a graduate student in Taiwan, one day my friend, Jenhom asked me to test his new "Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 VR" lens for him. I grabbed my gear and went to the Eco-Pond of National Taiwan University (國立臺灣大學生態池) to shoot some photos. This photo is one of them. I set focal length to 300 mm in order to take this closeup photo of a night heron.

[Daily Photo] Ross School of Business at dusk
Share this : | Email ThisBlogThis!Share to XShare to Facebook |
The building in this photo is the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, which is the business school of the University of Michigan. This building is modern and has a technial feeling. However, just across the street are buildings of Law School with medieval architectural style. What a huge visual conflict!

[Daily Photo] Law Library of University of Michigan Law School

I took this photo in the Law Library of University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The weather was bad that day, so I decided to do some indoor photography. The first place that came to mind was this place. I've been here once many years ago when I first came to US, and I was amazed by the decoration and atmosphere of this library. But the most amazing thing was that it allowed me to take photos with tripod.

[Daily Photo] Dock on King's Lake / 國王湖上的船屋

This photo was taken at King's Lake (Königssee in German), Germany. When I took this photo, I used a Cokin graduated blue filter in order to enhance the color of sky. As a result, it added some unnatural purple color to the sky. It took me some effort to remove it. You can still find a little purple color in the sky.

Add "Related Posts" into this blog (新增"相關文章"功能至本網誌)

I added a "Related Posts" feature on this blog. It's pretty cool and easy to install. If you are using Blogger, just link to LinkWithin and follow the instructions. If you don't want the "Related Posts" to appear on your homepage, you can refer to here. The modified result is the same as what is shown on my blog: when you click into one of the posts, the "Related Posts" will show at the bottom of the post.
According to the FAQ of the LinkWithin, the related posts are chosen based on several factors, including title, tags, and content. I've tested some posts in my blog. Some works well and some not so well. For example, for the post Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, it does works well; all the related posts are from Yellowstone.

This photo of Opal pool was taken at Midway Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It was the first day of our Yellowstone journey. We started from Grant Village to Norris. I had to call it "the day of geysers". It felt like I had seen all the geysers in my life in one day.

[Daily Photo] A cute squirrel standing on a tree root

I met this little squirrel when I was at Montrose Park, Washington DC. It was happily eating the food holding in its hands. I followed it and took a lot of pictures of it.
